For the last 2 years, I have been very obsessed to find ways to improve myself in all areas of my life and I have read a lot of books about this kind of topics from nutrition, philosophy, and anything that I can get my hands on. Now that I think, this is one of the reasons why I admire most about Tim Ferriss; But well back to the subjects during my process of learning and doing research I notice a few habits that are very similar in most of the smartest people in the world from people like Nikolas Tesla, Leonardo Da Vinci, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.
They all have a few things in a common, things that may seem simple but are very powerful in their life and I believe that this is what makes them consistent.
Here are the things that I Notice the most:
They Sleep more :
The average of this individual prioritize 7 to 8 hours of sleep, people like Ariana Huffington or Jeff Bezos had commented about the importance of their sleep time.
A 2010 Harvard study suggested that dreaming may reactivate and reorganize recently learned the material, which would help improve memory and boost performance.
I not going to lie this has been one of the areas of my life that I have struggled the most, sometimes is hard for me to go to bed earlier since I feel its kind a waste of time for me because maybe if I stay two more hours i can accomplish more or at least that what I believe that it’s going to happen but our mind as our body has a limit and it gets tired and even if we push our self to try to finish a project we end up procrastinate in other things or some time like in my case it’s hard for me to focus very late at night.
They Read more:
They Read more, and actually this one of my favorite topics since I love to Read I definitely can see myself reading all day.
Bill Gates, it’s well known by setting a goal yearly of reading at least 60 books, Warren Buffett also spends most of his day reading, This eventually helping him to make important decisions, people like Tim Ferriss and a former president Theodore Roosevelt are also well known for reading a lot of books.
They Question everything :
It’s good to be curious and Always question everything, it’s a great way to learn new things and growth internally,
Never be afraid to ask and don’t make the mistake to feel like you know everything.
They Eat food that makes you smart :
Eat Smart is one of the most important things that you want to do in your day, Imagine that you are a Ferrari will you put a cheap oil or gas to that car?. I don’t think I will, I will definitely put the best I could find, the same way work for our body since they are our vehicle and we need to take care of them; By eating food that makes us perform well.
Eating vegetables, good meat, and good fats will definitely make this happen.
What you can do it get a good diet and followed or simple you can google a list of food that can help you achieve this.
They Spend time by themselves :
I’m not saying that you should Isolate yourself from the world, but you should schedule some time for yourself where you can think, analyze and meditate in things that are important to you or that are happening to you.
Sometimes this is the only way that we can find a solution to our problems.
You can schedule this time Once a day or once a week; It’s very important that we reflex in our activities so we can find Solution and fix them at the right time.
They Exercise :
Exercise is another key factor for them and the good thing about this is that you don’t need to be married with only one method of exercise, you can alternate from yoga, cardio, walking, weight training, or swim.
The Most important thing is that you put your body in motion.
Oprah Winfrey has talked about this in the past where she mentions that part of her morning routine is to exercise for an hour and she also walks with her dogs.
